Did you know that tortoises can live for hundreds of years? They're not even sure how old they can live. Some tortoises in captivity have lived for three hundred years or more.

We have cute turtles and big turtles and little turtles and baby turtles, we have wild turtles and pet turtles and happy turtles and sad turtles. We have turtles you might see somewhere nearby and turtles you'll only see far away in some foreign land or sea.


It is tremendous fun to swim with turtles. Sea turtles usually hang around spots that have seagrass. They don't like to be around people too much because people like to pose next to them and knock on their shells and swim next to them. If a sea turtle sees you, it is quite likely to start swimming at a fairly fast pace out to sea.


Turtles can swim very deep, so don't bother trying to follow them down - they will always go down further than you can.
